A Hopeful Cure for Pancreatic Cancer Through Art

Introducing iPlaid which offers hope and aims to make a significant impact in the fight against pancreatic cancer.

iPlaid stands for "Intuitive Passion Launches an Inner Discovery." It is a global platform created with a heartfelt mission—to generate substantial research funding that will ultimately lead to a cure for pancreatic cancer.

The story behind the name iPlaid is deeply personal. My husband, Dan Mears, was taken by this devastating disease, and his memory continues to inspire this endeavor. During my journey of coping with his loss, I turned to art as a means of expression. On my iPad, I created a plaid-inspired piece that seemed to symbolize hope and change. It felt fitting to name this piece iPlaid in honor of Steve Jobs, the technical visionary who transformed our lives through Apple technology and was also lost to the same relentless disease. Thus, iPlaid was born, and together, we can make a difference for all those who have been affected by this silent killer.

The purpose of iPlaid goes beyond art—it's a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change. Through art, awareness, and community, we aim to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research, support patients and their families, and honor the memories of those we have lost.

Pancreatic cancer is an indiscriminate adversary, lurking silently within one's body long before any signs emerge. My journey into crafting whimsical, vibrant, and uniquely named artworks was inspired by my profound connection with someone battling this disease. My aspiration is that you'll incorporate the spirit of these creations into your living space, workplace, or share them as gifts, recognizing that you too play a role in the ongoing quest to support dedicated researchers tirelessly striving to discover a cure for pancreatic cancer.

My company will donate to researchers designated through my work with UCSD, Sanford Burnham, Pancan, and AskiCan. So far, over 160K has been raised from generous supporters which went directly to researchers. It is my hope that this will become a brand known around the world that benefits and creates awareness of those lives lost but honored through art... Forever!

It is imperative that we take a stand against Pancreatic Cancer, an ailment claiming 60,000 lives each year, making it the second leading cause of death. I earnestly urge you to join me in spreading awareness and rallying support for research funding.
